Privacy Policy

TaskLens (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is built and operated by Virstack. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the TaskLens mobile app, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account details: name and email address when you sign up or log in (including via OAuth providers such as Google or Apple).
- Profile settings: body weight, wake/sleep times, follow-up frequency preferences — used to personalise hydration and motivational reminders.
- Tasks & categories: the title, description, dates, and categories you add. These are stored locally on your device and synced to your account on our servers.
- Voice input: when you create a task by voice, the audio is transcribed to text on-device using your operating system’s speech recognition. Only the resulting text is stored.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- App usage logs: timestamps of app opens are stored locally to power streak tracking and usage charts.
- Device information: basic technical details (OS version, app version, device language) sent with API requests for diagnostics.
- Subscription status: we use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions; RevenueCat receives an anonymised user identifier and your purchase events.
3. Permissions we request

4. How we use your information
- To create and authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
- To store and sync your tasks, categories, and profile settings.
- To generate AI-driven motivational and follow-up messages tailored to your tasks and chosen frequency.
- To send reminders, hydration prompts, and motivational notifications you have enabled.
- To manage subscriptions, billing, and access to premium features.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the app’s reliability.
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. Data we do not collect
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use third-party advertising networks.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or calendar.
- We do not record or upload your voice audio.
6. Where your data lives
Most of your data — tasks, categories, completion history, app usage logs — is stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. A copy of your account profile and tasks may be synced to our backend at api.droplet.baby so you can recover your data after reinstalling or signing in on another device.
7. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers. Each receives only the data needed to do their job.
RevenueCat
Manages subscription state and entitlements. Receives an anonymised user ID and purchase events. Their privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase
Processes payments for subscriptions. We never see your full payment details.
Google & Apple Sign-In (optional)
If you choose social sign-in, the provider shares your name and email with us. We do not receive your password.
OS speech recognition
Voice-to-text is handled by Google (Android) or Apple (iOS) on-device. We do not transmit or retain audio recordings.
8. Data retention & deletion
We keep your account and synced tasks while your account is active. You can:
- Delete individual tasks or categories from inside the app.
- Reset all local data via Profile → Reset data.
- Request full account deletion by emailing info@virstack.com. We will delete your server-side data within 30 days.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@virstack.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
10. Children’s privacy
TaskLens is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use industry-standard measures — TLS in transit, hashed credentials, and access controls on our backend — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and keep your device protected.
12. International transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. By using TaskLens you consent to this transfer, which is performed under appropriate safeguards.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top and, if changes are material, notify you in-app. Continued use of TaskLens after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
